National Parks Triathlon Challenge
In August 2026, Darren will attempt to set a new World Record by completing ten adaptive adventure triathlons – swim, bike, and kayak – in ten consecutive days across ten of the UK’s most beautiful and rugged National Parks. Spanning Scotland, England, and Wales, the challenge will take Darren from the Cairngorms to the South Downs, testing endurance, logistics, and resilience at an unprecedented scale.
The National Parks Triathlon Challenge is in support of the life-changing work of the Redefining Impossible Foundation, a charity Darren established to support individuals at the very beginning of life after a life-changing injury or diagnosis. This early period – often the first one to two years – is when confidence, identity, and belief in the future are at their most fragile.
Darren is taking on this challenge to redefine what is possible after life-changing injury, not just through inspiration, but through direct action. Having lived this journey himself, he understands that rebuilding belief requires more than motivation – it requires opportunity, community, and a sense of purpose. This expedition exists to demonstrate what is possible, while ensuring others are given the tools, support, and belief needed to move forward with confidence in their own lives.
In his keynote speeches, Darren uses the National Parks Triathlon Challenge to explore how purpose-led goals can drive resilience, restore identity, and create momentum during life’s most uncertain chapters – showing that when ambition is anchored to meaning, extraordinary outcomes become possible.
