Inspired by his own experiences since sustaining a Spinal Cord Injury, Darren founded Adaptive Expeditions with a clear purpose: to create meaningful adventure opportunities for people living with disability. In March 2024, he established the company alongside two close friends, united by a shared belief that adventure should be accessible, challenging, and life-changing for everyone.

Within its first year of operation, Adaptive Expeditions delivered international expeditions in Norway and Germany, alongside a series of smaller UK-based adventures. In under two years, the organisation has supported more than 100 individuals with disabilities to access the world of adventure in a safe, supportive environment – while building a growing community of like-minded people connected by curiosity, courage, and a desire to push perceived limits.

In his keynote speeches, Darren uses Adaptive Expeditions as a real-world example of what becomes possible when people come together around a shared mission. He explores how inclusive cultures are built through collaboration, ownership, and belief – and how, regardless of ability or background, communities that challenge the status quo can create opportunities far beyond what any individual could achieve alone.
